China is set to host the APEC Summit for the third time in 2026, a decision welcomed and approved by APEC members during the 2023 Leaders' Summit. According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the nation places high importance on Asia-Pacific cooperation, having successfully hosted APEC in Shanghai (2001) and Beijing (2014).

In 2026, China is committed to advancing the Putrajaya Vision 2040, fostering a prosperous, peaceful, and sustainable Asia-Pacific community. APEC, comprising 21 members, represents 57% of the global GDP and plays a crucial role in promoting trade, investment, and economic collaboration across the region.
