The humanoid robot "Tiangong" drew attention at the Beijing Half Marathon as it became the first robot pacer in international marathon history. Tiangong ran the final 100 meters alongside the athletes, encouraging them to reach the finish line. The robot stands 163 cm tall, weighs 43 kg, and has a maximum speed of 12 km/h. It was developed by the Beijing Intelligent Robotics Innovation Center on an open-source platform, featuring two versions: Tiangong 1.0 LITE and Tiangong Pro.

Tiangong is capable of navigating various complex terrains, monitoring the race route, detecting abnormalities, and assisting security efforts. Additionally, the robot is equipped with medical supplies to handle emergencies at crowded events. This initiative promises to set new standards for humanoid robots and advance China's technological progress in AI and robotics.
