Indonesia's Big Win Over Saudi Arabia: Breaking World Cup Qualifying Record

The Indonesian national team hosted Saudi Arabia at home in the third round of the FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers. Entering the match, the Indonesian players showcased their dominance with numerous opportunities created.

In the 32nd minute, receiving a cross from a teammate, Marselino Ferdinan struck the ball into Saudi Arabia's net, securing the opening goal for Indonesia.


In the second half, at the 57th minute, after a blocked shot by a Saudi Arabian defender, Ferdinan quickly followed up with a rebound, scoring Indonesia's second goal. Following the setback, the Saudi Arabian team launched aggressive attacks but failed to convert them into goals.

By the end of the match, the Southeast Asian representative secured 6 points, temporarily climbing to 3rd place in the standings. With this achievement, Indonesia officially broke the 4-point record set by Park Hang-seo's team two years ago.
