According to multiple sources, coach Pep Guardiola is expected to extend his contract with Manchester City for one more year, with an option to extend for another year. The new contract will not include a termination clause, even if Manchester City is found guilty and relegated due to financial misconduct allegations dating back to 2009. However, Guardiola still has the right to resign if he wishes. The charges could lead to penalties such as point deductions, fines, or relegation, and the hearing is expected to conclude in the spring of 2025.

Despite the current difficulties, Guardiola has expressed confidence in the team and confirmed that he will not resign based on the outcome of the investigation. Manchester City is currently going through a run of four consecutive losses and is being outpaced by Liverpool in the Premier League standings. The team will face Tottenham this weekend on November 24th.
