Medvedev Warns of Retaliation After Russian General's Death in Moscow Bombing

Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has declared that Ukrainian leadership will soon face retaliation following the death of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of Russia’s Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Defense Forces, in a Moscow bombing on December 17.

Ukraine is believed to be behind the attack, citing Kirillov as a "legitimate target" over allegations of deploying chemical weapons against Ukrainian forces. Russia denies these accusations, asserting that it destroyed all chemical weapon stockpiles in 2017. Medvedev did not specify how Russia would respond, but Russian officials have previously threatened to strike key strategic targets in Kyiv if Ukraine continues aggressive actions.
